Der Kurzurlaub an der Ostsee neigt sich dem Ende. Außer Strandwanderungen und Lesen stand nix auf dem Plan, nur Handy war dabei.
Hab tatsächlich dann heute Buch Nummer Vier ausgelesen und auch Die Geißel des Himmels von Ursuka K. Le Guin hat mich gefesselt. Der Roman fing etwas beschaulich an, wurde dann aber immer finsterer, obwohl die Hauptfigur ultra gelassen blieb. Die Idee ist cool und ich bin beeindruckt, dass die Autorin daraus etwas so feinfühliges schuf.
Hatte der Anfang für mich nicht versprochen.
Diesen Roman hätte ich ohne den Carcosa Verlag nie gelesen. Manchmal ist es ganz gut, blind zu vertrauen.

It's a set of very weird worlds she's portraying in this book. I find the culture on Anarres revolting in it's insularity, and groupthink. At the same time the misogynism expressed by the people on Urras is just as disgusting.
It really isn't a clear cut ideal, any of them. Classic Le Guin making things more complex than you first imagine. She was good.

Olen melko ällikällä lyöty ehdokkuudestani #Agricola-käännöspalkinnolle. Erityisen iloinen olen #UrsulaKLeGuin in, #Kompassiruusu n ja fandomin puolesta, ei ole vieläkään ihan jokapäiväistä että jokin perinteisesti genreen lokeroitu teos ja kirjailija ovat ehdolla yleiselle kirjallisuuspalkinnolle. Agricolahan myönnetään todellakin "merkittävän kaunokirjallisen teoksen erinomaisesta suomennoksesta".

I'm still reading #AlwaysComingHome by Ursula K. Le Guin, a #solarpunk novel from 1985.
As it has more than 1.300 ebook pages, it takes more time. However, it is good for reading in several stages, depending on the reader's mood.
Honestly, I'm really looking forward to finishing this masterpiece. I'd like to find out more about Ursula's Inspiration for this book.
'Very Far Away From Anywhere Else' by Ursula K. Le Guin is a brief, beautiful account of two teen outsiders in 1970s middle-America. As so often with Le Guin, it made me feel very represented.

Les Dépossédés - Ursula K. Le Guin
Une relecture réconfortante. C'est vraiment un très beau texte, riche dans ses idées et réussi dans sa forme, qui n'a pas pris une ride. Il résonne encore très fort aujourd'hui lorsqu'il interroge nos régimes politiques, nos pratiques de consommation et notre rapport à l'écologie.
Et c'est l'histoire d'un aller et retour, ce qui doit expliquer pourquoi il s'accorde à merveille à ma relecture du Seigneur des Anneaux que je fais en parallèle.
