Has anyone of you ever played a #ttrpg by mail or by using an instant messenger?
About 9 years ago, i gm‘d a domain level ttrpg for some time, in which the players took over the role of rivaling low fantasy kingdoms. We used an obscure #Runequest sourcebook (RQ Empires) to borrow game mechanics and excel spreadsheet to keep track of stuff. Cooperative world building, diplomacy style scheming. It was tons of fun, but the game faded out after 10 months or so. Rules were to cumbersome.
@HeyeBodo used to do a TON of forum roleplay, back in the day. Used PF1e for the rolls, which is absolutely the worst way to be introduced to a system like Pathfinder
@zozo oh my God yes. My middle aged brain was hardly able to grog #Pathfinder during in-person games at the table. I got lost in micromanaging all those modifiers and options…I cannot
