Sick weekend evening with #BaldursGate3 :
Defeated the Gith at the Bridge by throwing every one except the two weakest off the cliff.
One retaliated and pushed Karlach over the edge. Lae’zel pushed him after her where he to his terror realized that Karlach had landed on her feet and had her halbert ready.
@ArneBab The battles at the beginning on “Stratege” are also pretty tough. I always liked to use oil and then position myself at the edge of the oil puddle. That made some of the fights a bit easier. But the first time my people were thrown down somewhere I was slightly horrified :P
@Reisser696 Same for me
This is my third playthrough — the first on Strategist level. It’s a clear difference in gameplay, and I admit freely that I reload from time to time.
@ArneBab ‘from time to time’ ... haha ... I had fights where I could save almost every few moves. Enemies with multiple attacks and strangely enough always critical hits sometimes destroyed half my party 5 times in a row until I almost bit the edge of the table. At some point in Act 1 I switched the difficulty down a gear because I simply didn't have the time for constant reloading :o A little later in Act 2 I went back up to Stratagem because it was getting too easy. Now in Act 3, even that is almost too easy. Ok, the characters are of course well equipped and you know the game quite well now.
@Reisser696 On my first playthrough I’d have been slaughtered at strategist, but I actually got quite a bit better at tactics in those 300 hours or so …
(that sounds like a lot, but since I’ve been playing bg3 as main game for more than a year now, that’s less than an hour per day. I definitely spent more time on Youtube, and compared to playing bg3, most youtube-time is wasted.
@ArneBab I think the whole thing would run better now with a new start. But when I think of the fight against the Hag, for example ... argh ... I haven't had that many deaths, revives, potions and virtually everything in my inventory again so far
@Reisser696 On this run I just skipped the hag. Hearing about your experience, I’m glad I did
(she already was hard to beat in easy)
